In 2008 or 2009, I noticed a special for the Canon PowerShot S5 IS, a decent ZLR (Zoom Lens Reflex, a camera that has DSLR features without the price or interchangeable lenses).  I called the retailer, but they were sold out all the way to the Bay Area! (I live in northern California.) I thought Best Buy could price match them, but the camera was a clearance.  However, I had the fortune of having the camera price matched, even though it was on clearance at the other retailer.  I bought the camera and a 2 GB SD card for $300, and have been using it ever since.
